I Am Who I Am

I Am Who I Am

Remember Popeye always saying I yam what I yam?  These days I have to  remind myself I am who I am, plain and simple, nuff said and my keyboard will cool off. Over and out…

Here and Now

Here and Now

Write here, write now… Writing, requires time & space, as well as dedication and commitment. It is difficult to find that magic combination when you are at home, when there are umpteenth other things that can easily pull your attention away from writing. Here and Now

As in the present time —used with the <man’s obligation is in the here and now — W. H. Whyte>
It’s in the here and now as I scribe this post after reading a Facebook update and it got me thinking. Continue reading “Here and Now”

Are You Feeling It

Are You Feeling Itfeeeling it

Are You Feeling It? May we never forget…

C’mon get real, not only am I feeling it everyday I am getting it (remembering TBI wise) everyday.

Let me never forget. OK maybe just a subtle reminder every now and then would be acceptable, but not really. After having IT in my life for 22+ years I am tired of he not so subtle reminders that occur all to often. I am about over every day in my life but if that’s the only lingering effect, I say bring it on! Lighten up self, while I still can because it sure beats the alternative of not living .

So I will continue to curse TBI because it also beats the alternative of not living life, I just needed to downshift and slow it all down so now I just take life in te words of my old friend Glenn Frey “Take It Easy” as in:
Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don’t even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy.  This is my mantra friends!

LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT! Continue reading “Are You Feeling It”

Time On My Side

Time On My SideTime On My Side

If you have the time to do what you want during the day you got the time to do what is good for you.

I am not talking about something that takes all day to do and your heart will thank you.

I have said all along that in order to have a healthy head you need a healthy heart, as in being physically fit.

I will be the first to admit that I’m no fitness expert, in fact far from it. I am the guy who used to weigh 205 pounds, more than was healthy for my 5’8″ frame. “In my  pictures in 2002 after my son’s birth, I looked like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at the beach”. I decided enough was enough,. cut out fatty food, and started walking on a treadmill to begin with. Continue reading “Time On My Side”

Status update:

To Be Epic

epic

Do I have a choice on whether or not to be epic in everything I do?

The bar was raised significantly that day TBI entered my life and I settle for nothing less.

I have a record-breaking cold or flu today so that in itself is epic. Mission accomplished, meaning it has truly kicked my butt sending my back to my heated bed before noon today.

A Cold, the Flu, or What Is It

A Cold, the Flu, or What Is ItCold

This is one nasty cold or flu or something, it started Friday after it worked through Dakota then Claire and is finally showing faint signs of leaving me alone.

I had to play on through it because we had some family health issues that are still going on.

Have To Get My Game On

Have To Get My Game On, Failure Is No OptionGet My Game On

So much for just cruising with a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) for a while, I got a job!  Well sort of job that is, now I gotta get my game on. TBI Insider topics will be taking a back seat here and my job whines will be populating the bandwidth.

Too bad the position pays nothing, as far as I can tell, but if this will get my back to being a family leader insider then it’s all good.

I have been a state of Colorado certified family leader (FLTI, or Family Leadership Training Institute) since 2010 and they have a yearly Summit convention for the 500+ certified family leaders. Doing so put me in perfect alignment on working on jobs with no pay, again. I have attended this Summit only once and having been tasked as the Committee Family Leader to organize the day long agenda of breakout meeting educational programming.
